The next stage

By MySisterCissie

We went to see 'La Traviata' encore from the Royal Opera House this afternoon with C. It was on at the Vue cinema - I've never been in there before, as it seems a bit soulless, but it's a comfortable cinema. We were in screen 12 (!).

We saw the Zeferilli film of La Traviata in 1984, when we were 'courting', and Placido Domingo played Alfredo. In today's version, Placido Domingo played Alfredo's dad. We've all aged in the past 35 years. This was an amazing production: all the cast were superb, but Ermonela Jaho, who played Violetta, was outstanding.

These giraffes are outside the cinema.
