Salvage from the Wreckage

The working week drew to a close yesterday with a spirited 5 a side game.
It ended early because C had arranged a (slightly leaked) surprise trip to Cambridge. So, after a run in the snow (trail shoes coped well), we set off to Not-Oxford.
The owner of the AirBNB was apologetic because the previous renters had ignored the No Smoking rule and the place smelled of cigarettes. He had gone overboard with air fresheners and, when we arrived, the place smelled of Forest Glade. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a day for throwing open the windows. Very cold and bright.

We did a bit of exploring and shopping. I was disappointed to see that the fan Black Barn record shop seems to have closed but found bargains at FOPP and Lost in Vinyl. LIV had 3 or 4 records from my long term wish list but the prices of those were a bit eye-watering so passed.
This cool cafe revived us with hot drinks and cake.
