It is now apparent that the apiary will have to move  to allow restoration work on the Lost Garden Wall, so I took a wander around the estate to inspect possible new sites. There is one about 50 yards from the present one – as the bee flies – but the trip by wheel barrow full of a heavy populated hive is nearer 500 yards. I went to the office to report my findings to find that it was guarded by this pile of silage bales. Those eyes peering above the parapet would scare the heebee-jeebies out of any night-time prowler.
The discussion was productive, now I just need to hear from estate manager that the farm manager approves of my plan.
