The rain shower that bathed Brisbane early this morning was welcome though just a drop in a bucket.

Meanwhile, in north-east Queensland, catastrophic floods are happening as many towns have already recorded over a metre of rain in the past day or two. Torrential rain is still falling in many areas, leading to evacuations, rescues and orders to leave those homes deemed most at risk. The forecast for these areas is more of the same for at least the next 4 days.
