Angel's Trumpet

Took our visitors over to the east coast of the Coromandel today. Staying with friends near to Mercury Bay (extra). They have a rural property with this interesting plant in their garden. Scientific name Brugmansia. Apparently it's fairly toxic and hallucinogenic! Mercury Bay is where Captain Cook observed the transit of Mercury in 1769. Entry for Flower Friday hosted by BikerBear.
