Christmas (shopping) spirit

I was still feeling a bit rough this morning. I guess that's old age catching up with me, but we were up early and into town all the same. Maddy needed picked up as she had stayed with a friend in town last night. I wanted to go to the shops to pick up a couple of things with some birthday cash. One was the final graphic novel in a series I have been following and the other was a book which has come highly recommended by photographers and artists alike.

I got to the shops for about eleven and picked up my graphic novel then headed to Blackwells to buy the book. Their website said they opened at eleven and it was about quarter past when I got there to find it not open. After abut five minutes a staff member stuck their head out the door and informed me they didn't open until ten so there was nothing for it but to head to Brew lab and kill forty minutes with a flat white a cheese croissant and my graphic novel.

I headed back down for twelve to find they didn't have it in stock... I decided to try Analogue books on the off chance and it was the first thing I spotted on the display stand on entering the shop.

I dotted about in town for a wee bit after that but it was horrendously busy, and most people were wearing expressions similar to the girl in this blip so I headed for home.

On the way to the bus stop I had to pop into lakeland plastics to grab something for Roz and bumped into family blogs, who were due out at ours a couple of hours later.

It was great to see them when they visited but I was having a technology nightmare with the fancy airplay ipod speaker Roz got me for my birthday (and Christmas, it was pricey) so I forgot to drill Joe for the insider scoop on the mysterious blip boxes he and G photographed the other day.

I eventually got the problem with the speaker fixed and I'm streaming music to it from iTunes as I type. No insider info on the boxes though.
