Cape of Good Hope

Fantastic day exploring the Table Mountain National Park. and the Boulders Penguin Colony during our first day in Cape Town. The Cape of Good Hope, where this photo was taken, you can see the Atlantic and Indian Ocean. It is breathtaking at the top of the Cape Point. Even though large animals are rare sight at the Cape, we saw some herds of Eland, Antelope and Ostrich. The time to see the humpback whales is between June and November. We saw a beached Humpback whale that had been there about one month. Very interesting to see such a large creature on the beach. Understandably there were not a lot of tourists at this location. The smell was a little hard to take. My favorite part of the day was visiting the boulders penguin colony. Beautiful birds that used to be called jackass penguins are now the African penguin. Unfortunately they are an endangered species. We saw many of Penguins nesting, baby chicks and lots of them swimming in the ocean. Once I get home I am going to upload all my photos from my Nikon and post.
