A drop of red wine
A nice elliptical shadow on an oak barrel used for aging wine outside in all weathers. Friends to lunch so a nice long chat around the table and two dishes made from Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi's Jerusalem, or at least my versions of them: sea food and fennel soup followed by slow-cooked lamb. With red wine, of course, but not a whole barrel of it! What a wonderful book - if only all Israelis and Palestinians could live together peacefully and productively as they do.
