One Street#1

Thought I'd join in with kendallishere's idea of a One Street project with an occasional look at the street where we live. We moved in to the road in 1988, having first moved to Street 9 years earlier when I got a teaching job at the local comprehensive school. Cranhill Road runs off the western end of the High Street and was built on an area of orchards with houses of varying styles being added as the road was extended from the late 19th century onwards. Our house, about a quarter of the way down the road, was built in the late 1880s.
