A Shepherds' Delight
If they looked west as the sun set tonight, the shepherds would have been so delighted that they might well have been hop, skip and jumping all the way down from the hills.
It is always a special pleasure to meet another blipper who has become a valued friend and so it was lovely that Gillipaw and Mr Gillipaw came calling this morning to deliver a little tartan puffin friend for my tartan robin so that he wouldn't feel lonely on the Christmas tree, and although I'm not sure puffins actually perch on trees he seems at home already.
He is a polite puffin and has not as yet turned his back on Budapest nut baby.
I had occasion to take a bus this afternoon to find buttons for a nearly finished -except -for -the -horrible -sewing -up -bit cardigan, and was horrified at the clientele on the no 30.
There seemed to be a preponderance of drunk, foul mouthed, society misfits , two with a poor dog in tow who climbed aboard.
It's amazing how much interest I found in looking out of the window and avoiding any eye contact.
Fortunately, the return journey was as restrained and civilised as any Lady could wish for.
The bell tower silhouetted on the horizon is atop my very first alma mater.
