Day #10 Picton

Today we were in Picton and it was a lovely day. Cruising through Marlborough sound first thing in the morning is delightful. Our plan to get a water taxi to Kaipupu Point Wildlife Sanctuary came off beautifully. No sooner had we arrived at the Information Site, we had secured a ride not 10 minutes later with a pick up in 2 hours - perfect. 
The weather was once again gorgeous and a light cloud cover made it a more comfortable walk around the sanctuary. Unfortunately there was little in the way of wildlife to see, although we did hear quite a few different birds in the trees. Nevertheless we had a lovely morning and then a quick wander around town after we got back. 
On the return stroll to the ship we saw a couple of pied shags on the waterfront, so this is my blip today. I'd not really noticed until today that their eyes are very blue, especially when they are closed. 

An early departure for us at 4pm, but it did give us the opportunity for another sunny cruise through the sound.
