A Tale Of Two Passions----Origins

My username, Lsquare, comes from the convergence of two passions from my younger days, neither of which, I can participate in as well as I used to.  When I graduated from college and moved to Austin, a friend invited me to some free square dance lessons and that passion was born.  I loved everything about square dancing, the music, the big petticoats and pretty dresses and it was there that I met my husband and knew I would marry him the first time we danced.  He was in the Air Force and after the birth of our second child, we were stationed in Maryland where I met a young woman who opened the door to a new passion, sign language, specifically signing the music for the services on Sunday morning.  In the deaf community, you need a sign name which is as unique as possible to avoid having to fingerspell your name constantly.  Nancy is the one who named me Lsquare because of my square dancing.  As to how I found Blip, I have enjoyed taking pictures of people since before digital and I was always looking for an excuse to take more, once I got into digital.  One day, Blipfoto popped up in one of my searches and since I was looking for a non-competitive atmosphere, I signed on to Blip as a free member and was immediately intimidated by  my own lack of experience.  It was almost a year that I hung around  here soaking up the kind and supportive atmosphere before I dared to submit a photo and, then, everyone was so welcoming that I have never looked back.  I love having blipfriends all over the world, some of whom have become very dear to me----you know who you are! Thank you jensphotos for this wonderful challenge and to all those who keep Blip going.  This past year, I finally became a subscribing member because I want Blipfoto to go on forever.........
