Pillbox

One of the many pillboxes located along the river Ouse stop line, this Type 24 pillbox in Sheffield Park is unusually well preserved inside and out. Inside, the concrete weapon shelves still have the original wooden Bren gun support blocks. Also preserved inside is the graffiti (in French) left behind by some of the Cape Breton Highlanders who were stationed here.
