The Winter Blues
The flurries were whipping around my head as I walked straight into the wind. And temperatures were dropping: single digits again tonight. We've reached that point in winter where people grow desperate. Has it been too cold, for too long, for you?
My tiny morning stroll took me down the road I live on, overlooking a group of houses down below. There is a small stand of trees between us. I have photographed them before. Can't resist them, you know: winter trees.
There is a blue cast to shadows in the winter. The snow and sky look blue too. I'm feeling all right, feeling OK - for a gal who's clearly (photographically, at least!) got a case of the winter blues. :-)
For my soundtrack, I've chosen two songs about the blues. First, Leonard Cohen, with Almost Like the Blues. And second, Robert Plant and the absolutely divine Alison Krauss, with Killing the Blues.
