Taken over

This fishing boat appears to have been taken over by its catch. Giant lobsters are crawling over the deck and there is no sign of the crew. This is the latest of these metal sculptures to appear alongside the boardwalk at Stonehaven beach. I think this one arrived late last year, shortly before Christmas. There was an article about them on  the BBC news website a couple of weeks ago.

It is supposedly a mystery as to the artist behind these sculptures. However the quality of the work and the manner in which they are fixed to the rocks says to me there must be a large number of people locally that know the author. Given where and how they are situated I would imagine the installation must also require permission from the local authority.

A stroll along the beach at Stonehaven was quite chilly today. A day to be wrapped up. We did stop for a bowl of soup before returning to the car. On the way back we collected Cosmo who is staying overnight while the boss celebrates Robert Burns in Aberdeen.
