The Unfinished Violin

We went to see Sam Sweeney perform with his band on his unfinished violin... It is finished now, and sounds fantastic. We saw his show Made In The Great War a couple of years ago and this was sort of a sequel.
He bought a violin which looked brand new but had 1915 penciled inside, so his dad (who is helpfully a genealogist) researched where it came from. They discovered the man who carved it was killed in WWI and it was never assembled until a few weeks before Sam bought it.
Tonight he played lots of tunes all written or connected to WWI.

We also went to see War Horse yesterday, which is the best thing I have ever seen on stage... No photos allowed there!
