The Unexpected

Just before we celebrated Christmas with our beautiful family, the unexpected happened. That very morning, my first husband, who passed in 1994, his mother did not wake up. It wasn’t expected, no long-term, life threatening illness. She just left on Christmas morning.

For her, a quiet, peaceful exit. For her husband, disorienting...traumatic. My sister-in-law, with the help of a beautiful group of supportive friends, got herself on a plane to be with him. Her awesome cousin drove down to be with him until she could get there.

This blipper stayed in close contact while making this the best day it could be, and beginning to make plans to head East.

Mom & Dad said it was a wonderful day. That made it a win. Such mixed emotions.
