Speakers' Corner

Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . . . . for a Burns Supper

If you're going to do something, you might as well do it properly - and the Burns Supper that took place at the Catstrand  in New Galloway came into that category.

It was authentic in every way - from the piping in of the haggis - to the very last rendition of Auld Lang Syne.  The speakers were entertaining and had researched their topics well - particularly Professor Ted Cowan who did the Immortal Memory.  There was plenty of music and singing along the way too.

And it was very fitting to be in the heart of Dumfries & Galloway - a part of Scotland that Robert Burns had known well . . . . . . .
