Australia day in Melbourne
There was quite a buildup to Australia Day on the television and we expected lots of events to be held. Unfortunately we chose to go into Melbourne in the afternoon and a lot of things seem to have finished, probably due to the heat that we had been suffering earlier on in the week. Although we spent several hours walking around we only saw one person with Australian flags waving and that was me with two stuck in the rucksack ( being given out free from Bunnings diy shops). Felt a little silly. First time in Melbourne and it really is a very nice city. The Yarra River runs through it when we crossed it several times in our wanderings. The boat shown in the photograph has a few young lads in it who was singing shouting and waving as they came up to us. I think they were Larakins , more of my Australian language coming out
