Planetary
Municipal Planetarium of Rosario Luis Cándido Carballo
The Planetarium gave its first function on June 19, 1984. Considered among the best in the world for its quality of sound, image and comfort, the space proposes to discover the celestial world. When it gets dark, it provides an artificial image of the sky, through projections that are made on a hemispherical fixed dome that functions as a screen.
The room, located in the center of the building, takes the name Oscar Claudio Caprile, in honor of who was an important pioneer and benefactor in the construction of this room.
Functions are offered for educational institutions and for the general public, with different themes: mythological narrations that originated in the night of time giving rise to the names and figures of the constellations; diverse astronomical phenomena; characteristics of the Sun and the planets; ancient and modern history of the great theories that revolutionized the celestial mechanics and the gravitation, birth, evolution and death of the stars; latest discoveries and technological advances.
