Puzzle

I think this photo would make a great jigsaw puzzle -- so much going on. We spent another day in Girona today.  I took loads of photos, but I just couldn't resist a different view of las casas pintadas. This is taken from further down the river; these houses are just out of view on the right bank in my other blip. It's SOOC, not even cropped, and that's not barrel distortion -- the row of houses is curved :) Look large to see the smoker on the balcony.

It was a good day; we managed to fit in some touristy stuff, visiting the Banyes Arabes (Arab baths, not so good on a cool day as when it's blazing hot) and the Cathedral. This was another chance to admire the amazing Tapestry of the Creation. It really is worth going to the cathedral just to see that. What we didn't do was Christmas shopping, despite our good intentions. We really can't put it off much longer!

Lunch at Draps, a place that makes a feature of the Spanish habit of sharing. We ordered one large starter and one enormous main course between us; the main course was two slabs of very good steak, unusually -- for Spain -- served with vegetables. Cheaper than yesterday's, and better food, although the setting was not quite so beautiful!

In the evening, we went to see a film in Palafrugell: Dans la Maison, with Fabrice Luchini, Kristin Scott-Thomas, and Emmanuelle Seigner. It was dubbed into Spanish; while we were pleased with another opportunity to improve our Spanish, it is a little disappointing, and disconcerting, to see Luchini (one of my favourite actors) in full flow, speaking Spanish! It's an odd kind of film; I would have appreciated the intrigue more if I hadn't been racing to understand what the characters were saying.
