Coates English Willow - Willow and Wetlands Centre
I went over to Street to spend the day with my friend M.R. And to belatedly celebrate her birthday. We went to the Willow and Wetlands Centre near Burrow Tump at Stoke St. Gregory, a place neither of us had visited before .
We really liked it there - the birds were singing away and we braved the mud to one of their shorter walks .The willow sculptures and drying bundles of willow made it special . There’s an excellent cafe where we had lunch and a fascinating museum . Who knew willow workers used to be paid in willow tokens ? The basket in the bottom right was used by Brunel to cross the Gorge over the Avon when the suspension bridge was being constructed. https://www.englishwillowbaskets.co.uk/
The bathroom work continues . Hopefully only another we3k to go . :))
