Girls on fire

I called in at the Piece Hall in Halifax on my way home from work this evening as there was a "Sculpture Launch Party" to mark a new large-scale installation by David Murphy called "The Blanket" (see extra).

The sculpture, which is supposed to be a magnified blanket weave reflecting the areas textile heritage, appeared to be overshadowed by the fire breathers, blazing lanterns, stilt walking girls, Burns Night music and giant hot dogs. One guy (pictured), much to the annoyance of a group of photographers (not myself)  was actually sat on the exhibit

I will have to call back and see the installation again in daylight
