Sunderland

Early start as EJ and I went to Sunderland to visit a housing provider. Long train journey but lovely views and countryside as we got further north. Stayed at the Boars Head Boutique Hotel. It’s the white building in the photo. It was so cheap for a twin room but great reviews, and a Bistro. Thursday is also steak night, and a 3 course meal including steak for £16. I have to say we weren’t expecting much but it was great, including the food and friendly northern staff and customers.
My dad was from Seaham Harbour, 7 miles down the coast, and it was lovely to hear the accent again, Pet. Unfortunately I can’t rave about Sunderland but to be fair we didn’t see a lot of it, if there is more away from the city centre.
