Time flies
This clock, inexplicably, flew off its mounting on the wall, falling onto the floor below, scattering shards of glass everywhere.
There have not been reports of poltergeists or earth tremors in the area, so we will never know the reason.
The sharp corner took a chunk out the 115 year old parquet floor (floor shown here in an earlier entry) but I am sure worse things have happened to it in the past.
The clock itself does not have a high monetary value and I should be able to fix in a new sheet of glass.
When one of our sons was spending a Gap Year in far-flung countries with different time zones, I mounted two identical clocks side by side.
Rather than label them NEW YORK LONDON PARIS MELBOURNE TOKYO, they were labelled with the names of our sons.
We could therefore keep track with ease
