One Day Ahead
I must still be on New Zealand time as I've been writing tomorrow's date on everything today. I attended the house inspection on our future home today. It's funny how the second time you tour the house of your dreams and you notice new things that you swear were not there before: a loose bannister, peeling paint on the entry wall, nails popping through the ceiling...little stuff. Hopefully. Well, the good news is that there is nothing majorly wrong with the house, but I have now decided it needs some cosmetic makeovers...all in time as we will need a huge chunk of time to recover from the purchase :)
I put tomorrow's date on each of the 500 or so school forms I had to fill out to get my son enrolled in school. Now I miss New Zealand! What happened to the Paper Reduction Act? Maybe that was NZ. Anyway, as my mind drifted to the future I realized there were a lot of important peices of documentation missing from my traveling files, so it may be an additional 4-6 weeks of involuntary school vacation for my son until I can get them re-ordered (birth certificate, dental records, proof of residence within the school district). He won't mind, as he has already started a strong lobby to live with the grandparents for the rest of his life. Traitor. Just kidding.
I took loads of pix during the house inspection, but this one was the closest I could get to a decent blip. The grandma that currently lives in this house made these amazing quilts hanging in every room and adorning every bed in the house. I tried to persuade her I'd buy the house if she'd throw one of these in the deal. No go, but I'll take the house anyway.
