Snowy skies

A walk up over the hill this afternoon.  First time without Ollie.  Lots of geese around, snow on the Hoy hills in the distance and very muddy underfoot.  This is up at the old army site, where there were anti - aircraft guns were based during the war.  Their job was to protect the fleet in Scapa Flow.  Chilly enough up there today, goodness know how bitter it would have been to be sitting up there through a winter's night.
