Peterborough
We stayed over in the Best Western Peterborough Orton Hall Hotel & Spa. It is a 17th century manor house and the former home of the Marquess of Huntly.
We had an early start, a taxi picked us up at 7:30 and we drove to Caterpillar/Perkins office. Our agenda was tight and felt a bit like rewinded, because there was so much things to see and to discuss and our taxi to the airport left already at 14:30. We had a tour in the manufacturing and in the research center, both highly interesting and impressive places to see. The Peterborough site produces engines for the agricultural, materials handling, general industrial, and construction and power generation sectors.
Our journey home went well, only our flight from Heathrow left 50 minutes late and it was very close we missed our flight from Helsinki to Tampere.
Morning was lovely and sunny, +4°C and it felt like spring! In the afternoon it started to snow. Last night it was -26°C in Pirkkala, but only -7°C when we were back.
