Standing on thin ice

Went for a walk around the ponds on Hampstead Heath with a friend yesterday, some lovely wintery scenes. I rather liked these seagulls standing in the middle of the pond on the ice which was beginning to melt.
It snowed yesterday evening, it is still about this morning but melting now.
