Closed!

Today, when we went into work, the door of the credit union there was covered with taped-on folders. The folders were holding forms that instructed members of the credit union what to do to in order to get their funds from the NCUA [National Credit Union Administration].
The credit union has been declaired insolvent and the Federal Government now controls all the money that had been deposited there.
The auditors have said that the poor economy had nothing to do with the closure. Such statements and the fact that the manager hasn't been seen for a few weeks have led to suggestions of embezzlement. To the tune of as much as seven million dollars.
Whatever the reason the reality is that we will have to fight to get our own money and we will loose the convience and local feeling of dealing with folks we know.
