Ragged (Day 1357)

After the morning woofer wander I set about cutting a sheet of plywood to size for a shower base I was hoping to get fitted today.
I headed to the bathroom refit, realising on the way that I had left my chop saw at home. It seemed sensible to carry on and go and collect it later if needed. Arriving at the job I explained to the customer that the shower screen which was ordered on the advice of another tradesman wouldn't fit and I would need to move a cupboard wall by just over an inch to make space. He was unimpressed, but understands that it isn't my fault and that I have found a way around the problem. I set about demolishing, then re-building the cupboard whilst he called the joiner who was supposed to be fitting the wet wall panelling tomorrow. Thankfully the joiner could re-schedule for the day after tomorrow.
Once I had the cupboard re-built, I had a bunch of pipes to move which meant draining the central heating, never a good thing to start doing in the afternoon. The re-piping took a little longer than anticipated and it was dark by the time I was ready to re-fill the central heating. The boiler, pressure gauge, and filling point are all outside, so it was all done under torch light. Typically the boiler had a bit of a hissy fit and wouldn't fire up initially and it took me a little while to get it going.
I came home to find our boiler had run out of pellets and spent a little while sorting it out. Thankfully the new insulation means the house isn't too cold.
The house seems very empty as  my beautiful wife is off to an overnight shift at work. It will be Thursday before we see each other again.
