Stag's Horn
BIGGER HORN
Another walk into Bracondale wood at lunchtime today - it was raining and gloomy but that was no deterrent!
I blipped a shot of some of these Stag's Horn fungi (Xylaria hypoxylon - aka Candlestick fungus, Candlesnuff fungus, Carbon Antlers) a few weeks ago, but there are loads of them about at present in the wood, and this one illustrates perfectly just why they're called Stag's Horns.
I'm hoping at some point I'll find the yellow version too .....
