What's the point of this?

The entrance to a farm, over the road from where my office is located.
The farm rears rare breed cattle and sells meat and other farm produce in its shop.
It's also a slaughterhouse and attracts activists. The activists attempt to stop the traffic into the farm and persuade the drivers to wait for 3 minutes so that the animals can be shown some love and compassion before they meet their end.
The problem is that some of the drivers don't necessarily want to be stopped to receive a lecture whilst cameras are pointed at them and the contents of their trucks. Hooting and swearing ensues and I'm sure the poor animals get more stress than they really want.

Moving aside any discussion about eating meat, this doesn't really seem right to me.
