I was torn between this and my extra...
We went to Tate Modern: it was warmer than outside, and always fun photographically. We even went into a gallery or two... We also climbed up to the viewing level (Level 10) of the new wing (Blavatnik Building), which offered an interesting and different view of central London and the original Tate Modern building.
This was "No Ghost Just A Shell" displayed in the oil tank gallery in "The Tanks" section of the Blavatnik Building. The other memorable installation was a reconstruction of the ancient city of Ghardaïa (Algeria) made from cooked couscous on a wooden table...
