Unusual and interesting

We went to Maryport this morning and spotted this memorial. The name of the main person is on the boat but poppies make it also a war memorial and on the back of the sails are the names and dates of lots of other people, not all of them war dead.
An interesting idea I thought. I haven't seen it before. Does anyone know if it is new?
