You only need to check out Callendar House or Park on the internet and comments appear re the lovely rhododendrons..... which are now being systematically cut back really hard and removed completely (stem drilling/herbicide) at some locations. Now I know they’re vigorous and invasive, but in some areas they were quite confined and in their beds. And glorious month after month.
