Rineen

A nice mild day. I got caught up in touching up some of the paintwork before putting up Christmas stuff, and it ended up taking hours. We took a break while the light was still there to walk the dogs in the woods.

Its a bit of a strange one this Christmas - the first time ever that none of our children are coming here for any part of the holiday. We are going to our eldest girl's for a St Stephen's Day (Boxing Day in the UK) family gettogether which will be great but... the focus is different and I've found it hard to find any energy for the usual seasonal preparations.

A dinner party for close friends during the few days after Christmas, is the answer and has given me the spur I needed to get into finding the tinsel and sorting out the fairy lights.

Tired out now though.
