Escape
We all need a little escape from time to time. This afternoon, in the freezing cold I ventured to the place that I escape to. I marched there and opened the gate without glancing up, I marched on the my plot, my space, my piece of land and looked up, and as I did, I felt my shoulders drop.
There is little to see and nothing to do when the ground is frozen, but this is a space where there is plenty of promise. I can see it all, I can control it all - well mostly.
I helped a few of these kale leaves escape from the wire mesh which is keeping them hostage and which so far the birds haven't been able to penetrate. Together we will celebrate the end of an exhausting week. I believe Kale sees it as an honour to give up life for the nourishment of their master. Mawhawhawhaw!
