Deer Stalking?!

This striking deer head is carved into the wall of the stone pavillion in the Queen Mother's Memorial Garden at the Royal Botanical Garden Edinburgh. I can't find out anything about the signficance of the carving but I love its beauty and simplicity.

Inside the stone pavillion the walls are decorated with shells collected by school children and the ceiling is decorated with pine cones from the four National Botanic Gardens of Scotland.
