Recording the past, for the future.

This house used to be called 'Holly Cottage' and had some wrought iron work on it with the name and a holly leaf complete with berries. It was on the route taken by my Dad and I when we would walk to his allotment, probably about 40+ years ago. We noticed this week that the cottage is now empty and has a planning application on the gate to demolish it and replace with a couple of semi detached houses. I don't know how old it is but it was on an 1865 map of the area! Something I learned from Dad was to make a record of buildings such as these, as once they're gone, that's it.
