Humpback whale diving
Went round to the west side of the northern tip of the Antarctica peninsula last night and landed this morning on a small island in Mikkelson Bay off Trinity Island. Loads of Adele and Gentoo penguins nesting and some Weddell seals sleeping on the ice. Weddell seals look very humerous, with a big smile on their faces and very human-hand like flippers. They also have a lovely song with which they entertained us. In the afternoon went for a cruise in the inflatables (Zodiacs) around a bay with an actively calving glacier at its head, so numerous pieces of beautifully sculptured ice floating in the bay. I'm very torn between posting a wildlife photo or a landscape photo for today, so I've compromised with this one of both!
