A quick trip to Balloch then an appointment with the hairdresser.

On my way home I picked up a copy of this book written by my friend's husband. The story begins at the turn of the century and follows the highs and lows of a young girl living in a fishing village on the Northumberland coast. It promises assault, murder, incarceration in a Workhouse Orphanage, abuse and finally eascape.

Once I finish the next volume of Scotland Street I will be diving into this.
