A good place for Water Babies

This vaguely religious looking scene is actually a statue of the 19th. century writer, Charles Kingsley, of Water Babies and Westward Ho! fame. It's also showing the only bit of blue sky of the day, which lasted around twenty minutes.
It was as low as I was prepared to go on a wet pavement without being mistaken for a down and out.
