Frost on the Turkey Tail
Wendy and I had scheduled an outing today but were stymied several times. First, we drove about 45 minutes to a lake that we like only to find that all access had been closed, we assume because the trails were covered with a foot of snow. Then we headed over to a State Park, but went to the wrong part of it that is open for hunting. Finally, we ended up at the Brighton Dam. We saw a Bald Eagle and Hawk at a distance, lots of geese, juncos, and Hooded Mergansers. As we traipsed through the 10-12 inches of snow along the river, we were taken with the heavy frost that was on some of the plants and fungi. Since it is Tiny Tuesday, it seemed like a good thing to blip, but now I find that the theme is "out of season"....so I am hoping it is optional.
As we made our way closer to the dam, we found ourselves near a construction site where we were very politely asked to leave because of our cameras. It was time to go home anyway.
