Martian on the move

A nice bright morning so we went to do Rob’s BTO bird survey at Cartmel. We had a good walk and saw several electric cyclists and a nice home owner who told us about her barn owls. There was an unpleasant moment when we had to pass a farm that was emptying its whole winter slurry tank into a field next to the road. Disgusting behaviour.
A little gardening in the afternoon and the sight of the Martian spacecraft being lifted into its hole was quite impressive. It will be good to have it firmly buried!
