Mementos of a Visit

Poppy may have departed to pastures new, but she left me this life enhancing book and a beautiful card.
The house has been very quiet today without her. However it is the calm before the storm because tomorrow the heating engineer arrives to fit the new boiler. If all goes well the heating will be on before the predicted cold snap.

With a warmth engendered by a visit to the gym, I am showered and waiting for the arrival of a Granddaughter to pick up the Christmas presents she left behind on Christmas Day because she was going to meet friend and didn’t want to be lumbered with them. It took a ‘‘last call’ message to her yesterday to come and pick them up or I would pocket the money, eat the chocolates and write in her new diary. That fairly hit the mark.

As I finish writing this, my Granddaughter has been and gone after I took her to Söderberg for a glass of wine and a cinnamon bun -no expense spared- while I toyed with an Americano and a corner of the said bun
