Dobby the House Elf

Al has been working on this puppet for a few weeks and bought him home tonight. It was suggested that the children make a puppet of someone they know, but Al chose Dobby. (Perhaps he feels he knows him as these characters do seem to loom large in out house).

I was so struck by how well Al has created the resemblance to Dobby, I suggested we put him in the top of our Christmas tree this year.

I went to a friends house for Christmas drinks with some women friends this evening and drank rather a lot of mulled wine! It was lovely, sweet and slid down like chai latte or cinnamon tea, and I'm sure I drank more than I should have. But it was lovely!

Not just the mulled wine, but the company too. Six of us having a lovely chat. Not a group that I've socialised with before but all women I know individually. It was great fun.
