A Life in the Day

A surreptitious nap

Last night was quite a disturbed one, due to little Joshua's very regular requests that the milk bar be opened for his convenience. As he is extremely cute, I don't mind being woken up (though I say that knowing I don't have to get out of bed early for work the next day!) and snuggling down next to him to administer the required milk is always a lovely experience. Last night, though, left me so exhausted that I decided not to get up when Ben left for work as I would usually do, and instead I brought Joshy into bed with me so I could top up on a bit of rest whilst he kicked his legs happily on top of the duvet and chewed on a couple of toys.

We're always careful about keeping our bedroom door shut, as Mandu has always slept on the end of our bed and, if there's one thing she loves, it's a new item or person in the house. Now Joshua sleeps in a cot big enough for both of them, the chances of her climbing in next to him are quite high, hence the closed door. However, once we're all awake, we usually let her in so she can take part in morning family time. This morning, the minute my sleepy back was turned, she spotted the vacant cot in an instant and leapt in, curled up and kept one eye open in case she was summarily removed - she knows she's not supposed to be in there, hence the slightly guilty expression on her face! At least Joshua wasn't still in there... I'd better get off Blipfoto now and change the cot sheets!
