Restraint

Every year that I come to London as part of my promotional tour for the new book, my editor takes me to a Spurs game as a special treat. Each year I cheer on the Spurs. And every year that I have been to the game they have won.

Today the game was at Wembley, and against Manchester United - my team. And Spurs lost. In spite of wearing a Spurs scarf, I was leaping inside when United scored, but showed what I thought was admirable restraint in not leaping to my feet.

Ah well... Sorry Jon, there’s always next year.
