Chaos

This was taken as we were heading back to our hotel having watched the loy krathong celebrations from a bridge in Bangkok. We had been told at the hotel to head down to the river, get on a ferry and head for an area called Asiatique. We hadn't been told that there would be about a million people trying to do the same thing. We were hopeless hapless tourists who couldn't read a word of Thai to understand the signs. No-one seemed to know what was going on as the Thai folk probably were visiting that area too. We gave up and headed up on to the bridge for some air and some respite. But still managed to see all the boats lit up ferrying people back and forth, some fireworks and lots of lovely lanterns being lit and sent off into the night sky. And those who didn't make it on to the boats were floating their krathongs in the murky bit of river by this shot.
